finished front mast......

Hi friends,

the frontmast is finished. Sadly the pic with the overall view is no sharp.....next will be better.......

The place in the mast top was surely rather uncomfortable during a battle situation.
It was a major target of the enemies. The control station of the artillery.

Hi friends,

here a short tutorial. The etched funnel rings were difficult to built, so I made a model to preshape it...........

the model made of cardboard:

"in use"

and the parts, before and after shaping

the pre shaping helped enormous..........

the rear funnel (a bit weathered)

and the funnels on the ship

the rear mast

Hi folks,

I´m very happy that you enjoy my report, thank´s so far (I hope nothing goes wrong during the next stepps until the end :roll: )

So, today I want to give you an idea how I build the rear mast.

1. cut out and prepare all parts:

2. shape the EP very carefully ( the parts of GPM are extreme fragile, so it´s hard to do, the shaping is ok, but assembling with my stubby fingers is......ops: :cry: )

3. assembling the rest is rather easy

4. final work

Wow, FLU! Really enjoying this build! Makes me want to start a ship (although I doubt I will come close to your level of skill). Just need to motivate myself to finish the tank I'm working on! And today is looking very nice and the fish are calling to me.... What a dilemma!

I started with the rig

I started with the rig and the antennas........it´s made of the trash of plastic kits, warmed with a candle and than pulled out............

The effect is great...............and much better than yarn.........just look

the first barge.......

O.K., but let´s have a look at my first barge, I was a testbuild, for the next few boats I have to improve my technique a bit 8)

it´s nearly finished but the rudder and the propellers.........I´ll finish it with the second barge......

Very nice build. The weathering looks great.
I'm not sure I would like to be on one of the mast platform with those loose lines whipping about in gale force winds.

the cranes................

today I only built the cranes..................

@ B-Manic: the loose lines were antennas............but you are right, in the artillery centers at the top of the masts must have been very dangerous.........

It has not gone un-noticed how well spaced and even those railings across the back of the crane are, Flu...superb work!
