Well barry.............. when you get this one done........... there won't be anything that you can not do!

If I remember correctly these are as big as a WWII carrier.......... so will there be a "flat top" in the future? Maybe even CVA-40 the USS Tarawa??!!

Tarawa

Need a bit of help. Has anyone been closeup to one of these to know if the cutouts on the hanger deck are covered in mesh or just open to the elements. Just had this awful thought they will probably all need edging.

Thank you if anyone can help.

Please not not everything including the lettering is cleaned up yet.

regards

Portside

I know I should do it white but I don't think I can build it twice I have not got the dedication. I shall console myself it will probably look ok in 1/700th scale if it all goes wrong and I shall build in some overlaps just in case.

The shape of the bow flare is a bit disturbing, metasequoia is usually right though.

Looking excellant. You've really grasped this design stuff! I'm still caveman-ing it with simple 2d stuff and alot of trial and error when I do have to make a part. Great job sir!

Flight deck

Thanks lads

On to the flight deck bit of a compromise I have had to trim off the overhangs might be a pain to glue on later we will see if plenty of cantilever supports do it.

This is as far as I got before my eyes crossed totally Photoshop is about a centimeter off it's limit with tis one. Still needs the landing bay numerals

And he's off!....

A very nice start, bazzer!

What's the thickness of the card you are using for the formers? Seems a tab thin, but, then again, I've not built any of these larger ladies yet so what do I know?:eek:ops:

Just noticed how extreme that curve is for the bow, mit be a bit of a challenge to set up the skins, but I have no doubt you will get it right.

Oh, she's going to be a big one, what?

Cheers!
