Yep, thats them! About riding them, the Mallard doesn't do that anymore but the Scotsman runs quite often (when it's not being repaired at least ), just nip over to York
I went for a walk along the tracks and spied a few things worth taking a picture of. I have to say by looking at the quality or lack tere of when it came to these tracks which are used by NJ Transit I,m surprised there are not more incidents of derailments, I think 1 in 5 track nails were loose or coming loose flange plates laying on rotten ties a sad state for a yard which looks like it gets some considerable use.
Well, I've been beating up on everyone to enter, I guess I'd better put something up or else stop bugging you all to enter... and I surely am not going to do that, so here's my first entry, nothing special, but a shot of the FP7's on the Verde Valley Railroad in Cottonwood, AZ.
Time to add my 2 cents worth in.
These are two phots taken of the Portage Flyer Station and it's equipment.
information on the Flyer can be found at http://www.portageflyer.org/
Very nice Will. I'm glad you were able to get them posted. Thanks for entering them, we are really getting a diverse bunch of entries. It's gunna be tough picking a winner.
I thought I'd enter one each of prototype and model pictures.
Here's my prototype shot. With the purchase of Illinois Central, CN aquired 4 E units (E-7s? - I'm not sure...) Two were left in IC colours, and two were painted in this spectacular CN green and gold scheme. I wish I had gotten better pictures, as I recently saw them again, and they've been repainted in a nauseous black, orange and cream coloured "noodle" scheme. Ick.
Here is my prototype shot. Not a good shot but a piece of history none the less. Taken in 1980 in Garfield, N.J. on the ex-Erie Dundee Branch. CR switcher in EL paint renumbered crossing the Passaic River.
Here is a second entry for the contest it falls right into my hobo intrest hope yall like it it is from the railroad museum in Currie Minn. I have many great pictures if anyone is intrested in the rest of drop them me a line and I can send them off email or I can post them
Thanks
Mike
