    Good Evening All
S.E.Mich had a nice 80 degree day with more on the way, but of course they stuck the storms(maybe)back into their forecast. No matter today was nice and I got the grass cut and trimmed. No trains ran today though, I did drop in for a visit. They were all glad to see me. Enjoy the weekend...S.J.

Wow, a new caboose to ride in for a while. Was wondering this AM on how long the thread would run before jamming up the server. Well, had a good 1/2 inch of rain this afternoon. Storm just made up over Rolesville and rained on us. None of the other towns got any. Off to bed. Watched the 2006 version of Charlotte's Webb. Pretty good. Good night all.

What time is "standard" for THe Gauge? Some folks are saying good night long before I do - I'm on Mountain Time, currently 2230 hours.

For you civilians, Mickey's big hand is on the ten, and his little hand...

    Good morning all

Chief: Oh yes very cold. We've had some people over from England and- to them- they felt it colder at one stage! (My guess is that it has to get warmer to snow?) Anyway, not so much anymore, but 30 or so years ago it used to snow regularly- though not on the same scale as Europe, UK or US.

Now, last night something strange did happen- It rained! Very strange for Johannessburg in winter where as in Cape Town the most southern tip of Afrca it rains all day every day in winter.

sign1sign1sign1 Took a bit to figure that out hehehehe

There is no standard time here... We're all on whatever time zone we set up in our user CP (Top of page - on left of nav bar). Your post above reads 12:30 AM for me. EDT

We have members from all over the world here, so while it's 2230 MDT, it's 0030 the next day here EDT and 0430 in the UK...

So while we're getting ready for bed(2300), you're still midnight snacking (2100) and Austrailans are saying G'day (while they tell us what they had for lunch (1300)

When I get confused, i go to:
World timezones map with current time- 24 hour format
You can click on any country and it will give you detailed times :D :D

Morning all. More rain on tap for this PM per weatherman. Off to the lake [Kerr] to look at a lot. Have a great day.

Understood, but some forums have a standard time based on their base location, which sometimes allows a member to figure out why another member is toddling off in the middle of the day. The Armchair General Forum, for example, works on Greenwich Mean Time.

It doesn't really matter in the long run; I was just curious.

Sunny in Colorado today - might be a good day to sample microbrews at the Renaissance Fair.

    Speaking of time zones:

Did anyone notice that google home page has been hacked by those
long-haired hippy druid freaks to celebrate the summer-solstice?

Time zones don't bother me, since I rarely know even what day it is.

    Happy railroading!:thumb:

    Good Morning,
Sunny and going to low 80s, some areas have had a shower already this morning. We heard thunder but the rain just missed us. We could use a little rain but without the storms would be prefered. Trains today? I don't know yet just see how it goes.
I am on eastern time it is 10:09 AM S.J.

yeah - MM it was a good question though... :) I know some boards run with one standard time... All the times we see here are for our own time zones. So when you look at a certain post, it shows a 2 hour earlier time, than I'm looking at :) :)

I would imagine the actual logs use GMT... It would be simpler there...

Just saw that!! It's never a bad day to sample microbrews (or wine) at the Renn Faire.... What can beat good music, "Nice" period clothing, a sword at your side and ale?? :D :D :D

Ours starts the middle of August - already got our season passes!!! :D :D

Good afternoon, I've had a busy couple of days and didn't get a chance to post yesterday. Had a Church committee breakfast in the morning, yard work in the afternoon and then out to dinner and to see Brigadoon at the Fulton Theater in Lancaster, PA. BTW the Fulton is the oldest continually operating theater in the USA 155 years. While standing in the lobby chatting, a forum member called me with an electrical question on his layout. Think I solved his problem OK.

Today, no trains yet. Did yard work this morning and then stained more logs for my DH project. Maybe run some trains later.
  13. Okay I move and when I finally get putor back you all move the caboose on me. Like the new location. Hi all ! All is going good finally got putor back up and running. been working at the V.A. here in columbia now for about 4 weeks. Did about 20 hrs of O.T. last 2 weeks so this coming pay check will look good buty the next will be even better as I will do another 20 hrs of O.T. and I work the 4th so that will count as 2 days work so I'll be getting almost 3 weeks pay in a 2 week period

Getting settled in here and liking it so far.

    Hey everyone:wave:
Just learned that I could possibly go on a steam engine fan tripbounce7July 19th with my local Model Railroading club:mrgreen: I've never seen a working steamer in person, much less been behind one, so I'm gonna take a TON of picssign1 nothing much else, just had to get it out of my system:p

RT, Glad to hear that things are going good for you. You need to update your profile, now that you have moved. Do you have space for a layout at the new home?

CNWman, What RR and what type of steamer? Should be fun for you. I'm old enough to remember seeing them on the PRR & Reading main lines & I still get a kick out of seeing and riding behind them.

    Good Evening
Well most of today was nice. Parts of the area got downpours of rain and hail and we got a little rain. I did not run trains today, but did fuss with them a little. You know look at this one, move that over there. My wife and I went out to eat this afternoon, stopped at the mall stopped at two stores outside the mall and a visit with daughter all in one round trip. Thats the way we do errands now as often as possible. TTFN S.J.

Yeah, try to conserve that black gold, texas tea Sir James.

RT! Hey man, do you still have the same at-home email address? I sent you an email on the "company" computer system, but I guess you didn't get it?

Got a little bit of rain this afternoon. That is OK. A lot of folks around here got inches but bad stuff [wind, lightning and hail] along with it. Resting up. Getting ready to declare war on groundhogs. Seems the whole world has suddenly truned into a groundhog haven. They have moved under my tractor/boats shelter. Later

I've been down at my parents place working on the pool all day. We installed the liner in forty-five minutes then had the fire dept bring the water in. Thirty trips in all, one thousand gallons a trip. Now we know how much that big hole in the ground holds. That's to be expected I guess, it's a Jolly Green Giant, constructed back in the mid sixties. I always thought it was twenty-five thousand gallons. Looks like I was off by five thousand. BTW, it was 95, in the shade. 120 out on the brick terrace!

Busy Saturday. Well, Thursday and Friday did setup for the flower show that was held today. We went down to look (Dayle didn't get any ribbons) but we went on an historical walk to see where the river used to run in Brampton -- right down (or up) Main street (or under it) for a block and then behind it. That lasted until the 1948 flood.
Home again because I was on the Platelayers home layout tour -- only 6 customers, but the room felt crowded. Then back to take down the flower show.
Weather was nearly perfect -- umbrella was wet but only needed it for 10 minutes.
