Well i finally started work again. Todays work started with a complete rebuild of the bench work. It is now twice as strong. As well as new sheets of foam, i have started to map out the track on the one end of the layout.

Tommorow will be finishing the benchwork and gluing the foam down. As well as creating the risers for the elevated line at the rear.

And today we made more progress.

Put all the rough risers in to get an idea of spacing.

That looks like a pretty steep grade on the right hand side curving up and around behind the industries. Then it seems to flatten out for a while. Perhaps you could bite into the flat a little bit and lessen the grade? Then again, the photo could be deceiving.
EDIT: I also just went back and re-read your comments and see that was just roughed in. While you don't have another photo of the same area after the new incline foam it looks like you have already addressed that issue. Sorry... bogus comment.

Ya it is a 2% grade on the layout that line just goes up the hill, across the bridge and back down. Would like to have less. But im trying not to occupy the whole room:rolleyes:

Its 3' wide at each end to allow for a wider radius, then narrows to 2' in the middle. The total layout is 12' long for now:rolleyes:. Single track main line, with one branch line/staging area.

Well i managed to make a little more progress today. Layed out the Mine track. Some of you may recognize the mine. It was one of Robins creations that was sent to me. I think it will fit well once some scenery goes in.

Well thankfully in a way it rained today. Gave me some time to work on the layout. Mainly the mine area.

Starting to build up the hills.
