old time stuff in N, any of it worthwhile?

anybody home. am fixing to move to the big city, and have less space. the wife has sugested I do something completely different, and the only thing I can think of that would be entertaining is old time stuff.


any 4-4-0s and 2-6-0s in N that run well enough to make it worth my while?
 
I've always liked "N" scale stuff. Now with the DCC controls and ability to have trains come either direction on the same tracks, there are a lot more options, though my trains are way to old for that. ;)

HOn3 looks very interesting. How are the variety of cars available? :)
 
craftsman kits , or kitbashes. The RTR stuff available at times, from Backstone are pricy; and they are having issues with their Chinese builder.
