Yakovlev 'Flora' Yak-23

Looks nice. A couple months ago on Discovery Wings there was a show about the other time the test unit from Wright Field got their hands on a frontline 1950s Soviet Jet Fighter. About a month after the Mig 15 was wrung out on Okinowa somehow the Air Force got their hands on a Yak 23 for testing. came in a crate and had to be shipped out the same way. The likely suspects in the diversion of the aircraft before it got to where it was being shipped is most likely the Yugoslavians. Even though Tito was a Communist he was a Serb and Yugoslavian first. As I recall the Yugoslavians had P80 Shooting Stars in their inventory. Well the USAF had the Yak painted with US markings and numbers. The cover story if it got seen during testing was it was the second Bell X-5. The first of which had been lost just recently before that.
