Many of you have enjoyed building some of Rick's designs like the Wacky Racers series he did a few years back. Well, he has been moved to hospice and not expected to live more than a week; his step daughter, said he has
2 tumors on his brain, one on his lungs. Just thought you'd like to know.

OH My God!! Thank You for letting us know I am changing the title of this thread to reflect the immediacy and nature of it.

He is one of the nicest people I had had the pleasure of knowing in this hobby. He is selfless, and people building his models is his joy. I pray that he passes painlessly into God's arms. This is truly sad news.

ARMORMAN, Thank You for letting us know. You contribute much here, including news on people we hold dear.

    This Thread is a "Sticky".

Oh man, I am so sorry.

Rick, you are such a good man, always polite, always helpful. I wish you and your family all the strength you can get. I thoroughly enjoyed your models and the way you created them. Witnessing how they came together is truly an honour. They will always have a special place in my heart, especially the ones from your "Sky Captain" series.

Take care, be brave, and rest assured: This is not the end.

    Kindest regards

You have given joy to so many people, and for that you will be remembered. For the years to come many more people will discover your unselfish gifts to the paper-craft community, and they will also receive joy and you will be remembered. We will remember, with a tear and joy. Our thoughts are with you and yours.

In normally don't allow "GoFundMe" or "Kickstartter" posts, as this forum does not seem the appropriate place, but Rick, "The Webdudee" has given every model he has made away freely without constraints. If you can help his family defray costs, please do. Dying is expensive these days.

I'm so very sorry to hear this news. He is a great model designer. I have quite a few of his models including the animated Joker head he was so kind to design after a request I made. My thoughts and prayers for him and his family.

The sheer volume of models he has produced a legacy that will outlast the Internet, ass people all over the world will have copies of these models, and they will transcend time and space like pieces of classical music written 500 years ago.

Rick's stepdaughter, Jacey, posted that he passed away this morning:

Words cant describe how i feel right now.... I wake up today to news i never wanted to wake up to... i now have two wonderful angels watching over me... No, he wasnt my biological dad.. but this man stepped up to help raise me and my brothers.. after mom died we got closer.. and i always went to him... i went to him i couldnt go to anyone else. He understood me in ways nobody else did. If something went wrong he was there... holding me and telling me everything was going to be okay.. he always waited for me to tell him what was wrong. He never rushed me. He was patient.. he was understanding. He was the best. He will always have a special place in my heart. He wasnt just my best friend, he was my step-dad. He always held my hand through the good and the bad. And i did the same. For the past 3 weeks, all i seen when you looked at me was hurt in your eyes. I seen how bad you was hurting. And there was nothing i could do... ill always love you. I know you're always watching over me. You and momma both. I know you're so happy to see mom again.. i know you're up there hugging her and telling her what all we did and how much you've missed her. You two take care of each other again. Now neither of you have to let go of each other again. Yall are forever together again. Only yall wont be taken away from each other again... i love you mom and dad. Yall are forever, deeply missed.. rest easy. Fly high. We're only apart until we are together again..

Unfortunately, I never had the pleasure to get to know him (or his models). I would still like to convey my deepest condolences to his family for their lost.

After reading Jacey's note ( I've never met her or "Rick" "The Webdude", If it weren't that I could write these words, I certainly could not speak them for the lump in my throat and the tears I shed and in sorrow and in that certain joy that :

................having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth - in Him. (Ephesians 1:7-10)

We were all so lucky to have shared this time period and to see the icons of our childhood recreated so wonderfully by the "Webdude". I do believe we will all meet up again. Too much order for this to be coincidence. Choose the name you call the maker of all things, in the end, everything, the words we use, the thoughts we have, all a gift that were dispensed to us. All of this, all of the love will be gathered up and we will be together again. If it all is coincidence, if it isn't, in the end, all we have is each other.

To Jacey, if you ever read this, May you be blessed and comforted in the knowledge that you have, the faith you express, that you all will be together, forever, and ever. Your Dad was loved and admired by an unfathomable amount of people, and his legacy will be keeping the memory of him alive for a very, very long time.
