    Hello all,
Googling cheap miniature alternatives got me here :) I'm a young husband and father who wants to pursue miniatures with higher cost efficiency than Games Workshop would like.

I've heard people make Warhammer Fantasy models themselves? Does any of that go on here? I play with friends and I think they'd be more impressed than upset that I don't support GW.

    Looking forward,

There are a lot of free 'standee' style (2d card) miniatures that would probably fit the bill. I design (and sell) 3d poseable figurines that might work for humans in Warhammer Fantasy but they'd be a little big, scaled for 35mm instead of 28mm. You could probably scale it down, but it would ratchet the assembly difficulty up a bit.

Some great links to standee fantasy figs: http://onemonk.com/Home.html

My figs (I have a number of free ones to try) are in the store section here: http://tcfgaming.com

    Have fun!

    Hello Trick,
I think this is the first time I've ever seen a paper model :) Thanks for the pictures and link.

Welcome aboard. There many scene pieces that can be used for Fantasy wargaming. Here is one that deals with LOTR but can be adapted to Warhammer Fantasy gaming as well. http://www.lotrscenerybuilder.org/orthanc.php It gives you templates and guide for how to build scenery. Enjoy and see you around the forums.
