i dont think it worked, go to the 1/87 scale vehicle clubs website and look at the current page of models.
Josh, looks great! Man, I wish I had your ambition! I think the blue would be a good color for your fleet. :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:
Are you going to do one of these up in the blue star scheme? Its 1:87.
I agree with sgtcarl in my choice. I am always wishing I had more blue on my trains and layouts.
I would go a darker blue, you can get light blue from sky background, but dark blue has to come on the trains and vehicles. Here is the blue I currently like: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=248639&nseq=1 I love that train.
Whether or not the blue on Star would conflict with the blue on trucks would be compatible with each other depends on many variables. Lighting, angle of sight, etc. Personally, I really like thalo blue, aka: Prussian Blue. It has a naturally slightly metallic sheen.
I have a question about your wiring plans(and I may have missed it re-reading the thread).
I'm thinking about a shelf layout, but I'm wondering how to make the wiring accessible AND hidden?
Try E-Z Command. I've read that it's quite good.
I've never tried it. All I know is hearsay, and what it says at the Bachmann site. Of course, not everyone minds stationary controls, you know. And it can become walkaround and more advanced via Dynamis.
The best system you can get is NCE powercab. when you check it against comparably priced systems, it wins hands down. In fact, it beats out most other higher priced sets, and it was a walk around throttle already. I've used the Powercab myself, and if i hadn't already bough the Prodigy Express, i would buy powercab.
Power cab allows you to control a lot more of your layout than most beginner systems.
I've tried the other systems out there, like digitrax and bachmann, but NCE seems to be the best.
