I'm planning a road trip for later this year, and am considering a variety of choices.
Two of them involve a train show.
The first is to Tucson AZ for the Great American Train Show, September 7-8. This works out quite well for me, because all the kids will be back at school, but it's still warm enough to camp all the way down and back (I live in Alberta). 1,837 miles one-way.
The Roseville CA show in November. Sounds big big big. Slightly closer, 1653 miles one way, but I probably wouldn't be able to camp, making this a significantly more expensive trip.
I was going to do some railfanning along the way as well, which would probably make the Sept show more suitable. BUT I also haven't necessarily seen good things said about some of the GATS shows.
Any thoughts????
