Huge archaeological discovery in NoVa
Flash!!!
Today, employees and owners alike of the Cabin Branch Mine and Logging Co. expressed amazement at a discovery made during mining operations. Here, at the bottom of a 2,400 ft deep shaft in a small mine in northern Virginia near the quaint town of Dumfries, miners discovered a large wooden packing crate marked "Gauge Ind." No one seems to know what to make of it. How did it get here and more importantly when did it get here? "The mine which produces a mineral known as "Fool Gold" (sulfur pyrite) has often been the butt of many jokes such as "Who in their right mind would deliberately dig for "Fool's Gold?" The foreman, a certain 'Mr. Kelly" who has been known to imbibe from time to time and has been known to make wierd statements while in this condition says that he believes the "little people" put it there. This reporter must state that this worthies speech was slurred and he smelled of something between skunk oil and vanilla extract. Someone suggested that some of the miners, as a practical joke, secretly constructed the box and then "discovered" it. No one knows but according to reports from many areas of the world, this box has been the subject of some very bizzare stories many of which have been attributed to an over-consumption of alcohol in various forms. Unfortunately, because of poor lighting conditions, no photographs have as yet been obtained but watch this space for future developments.
