I want to put sound in a Proto 2000 GP38-2 engine. I need enough functions for headlight/reverse light, front ditch lights that flash and rear ditch lights that flash. That should be 6 functions at least. I having problems finding small sound decoders and wonder if anyone else has tried to squeeze a sound decoder in the shell. There does not seem to be much room. Thanks

, in MANY of the engines i have put sound decoders in, i HAVE had to remove some of the weight to do this
. in some cases i was able to take some of the weight out, in some cases i took the weight out, shaved SOME of it off, and reinstall the rest. if the engine comes with a cab interior, 90% of the time i remove the interior and place the speaker in there:thumb:. those are some of the things I DO to get around lack of space in MOST engines. -Deano

I'd say shave some of the weight from the unit, thats what I ended up doing to get the decoder to fit right in my SD60M.
