I prefer body mounted couplers (little more realistic), however bogie mounted is better for the tight curves I have, especially on the longer passenger cars. Also the bogie mounted couplers are "fixed" and have no draft box, so make it pretty yucky to convert them to kadee. (my preference for coupler). SOme stock, ive just cut the coupler off the bogie, and mounted a kadee on the body. (that's how I found out my curves were too tight for body mounted kadee!! )

I know that I'm late but just thought I would put in my two cents worth.

I've done what Woodie has done the bogie mounted trucks are great for long cars on tight curves. But nothing beats a body mounted coupler.
