Great little railroad to model

    I thought this might be an interesting shortline to model for those interested in modern operations but with a soft spot for the old locos like the RS-3.

    I like the looks of it. Like you I enjoy the look of those older units and the orange scheme appeals to me.

    Short lines can be very fun to model, I'm thinking of modeling one on my layout. The only problem is, do I want to sacrifice real estate for a short line, or have more main line run?! HMMMMM.

    Nice photos, thanks for sharing. The Battenkill is an interesting little railroad.

    SD90, perhaps a shortline connecting to your main line for the best of both worlds? You don't have to model the entire shortline a la the Kelly's Creek and Bradley on the previous version of the Virginian and Ohio.
