I have a 2--8-2 Penn RR engine with attached tender hooked by a single wire and a connecting rod that is removeable. The engine works when powered off the track. With the tender attached or not it will not run. Appreciate any help. felliott@optonline.net

Check which side the loco picks up power from, and then make sure the tender picks from the opposite side. Usually RH rail/ loco, LH rail/tender.
