Best is such an opinion loaded term. Nonetheless, for N scale, try www.featherrivertrains.com and/or www.wig-wag-trains.com. I don't know on the larger stuff.

The LHS I go to has all that stuff LS. Don't know what your situation is but I find the staff at my LHS very helpful.
