Der Glaskasten

Great set of wheels, and the spokes are superb too...

This week I had the pleasure of looking at the 8th oldest locomotive in the world, and the first steam engine to pull a regular passenger service!
I present to you Robert Stephenson's 'INVICTA' currently housed at Whitstable Museum, Kent, England

I love so much train museums... I missed this one: should see it sooner or later. I'ts an original piece or a reproduction?

Back to the wheels:

Some details has to be added to rim and hub... Fortunately cutting very thin circles with the laser is a matter of minutes (I bless my decision to buy that laser thing everytime I use it).

And so the wheels are ready for the last touch with superglue, to smoothen the union point between rim and spoke. But this will be the subject of the next post...

In the meanwhile I gave a coat of primer to the frame to see if all the details are OK. Some sanding is required but the overall look is quite good so far.

This is the first time I build a paper model with the intention to paint it. Now the moment to start painting is getting closer. It's time to study how to give colors to my baby...
