I am a newcomer to the board and to model railroading. I recently moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, and there is a Train Show this weekend at the fairgrounds.

It is called "Worlds Greatest Hobby Train Show".

My question..... is it worth going to something like this for a newcomer. Is all the Hype I hear on the radio and read in the newspaper just all talk? announce1

I just don't want to spend the time and effort going to this show and paying the entry fee, just to find out it is just a couple of trains that I could see at the local hobby shop.:curse:

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

It can be well worth your trouble and money to attend a train show:thumb: . If they have vendors there the money you can save will more than pay your entry fee:) . I picked up a MSRP $130 Atlas engine at one NIB for $50 plus a "few" other items:D ! The one I went to didn't have much in the way of layouts but man the vendorssign1 !
