I have the centerline car and was less than impressed. I have found the tank car from TTX (www.ttx-dcc.com) to be much better. Although I wouldn't recommend it due to cost, since I have both, I run them together, using the Centerline car behind the tank car to dry the rails and pick up any leftover residue. The reason I say the Centerline car leaves something to be desired is that after running it several times around the layout, you will still get black stuff on a towel you pass over the track.

As I stated in a previous post, I have heard of people mounting masonite blocks on the heads of nails, and inserting the nails into holes drilled in the floor of inexpensive boxcars like Athearn, then running the car in regular service, with just the weight of the masonite bearing on the rails. I will check this out in the future. You would need to bevel the edges of the block so it doesn't snag turnout points.
