wheel set close ups

    Nice shots Charlie!:thumb: THANK YOU for posting them:thumb: . i am a dial-upper:roller: , so i haven't took the time to view them ALL yet:oops: , but the ones i did check out looked GREAT:thumb: , i think it will help many of us:winki: .

    One thing I noticed by taking the pictures was the old friction bearing wheels. They don't have rust on them because they always have oil on them. Funny how you can be around things for so long but not really pay attention. There are no inner seals to the journal boxes so of coarse the wheels would have oil on them that over the years caught dirt producing a greasy build up.

    Very good idea, thank you :thumb:. Especailly the pics of the friction bearing trucks are very interesting to me.
