What kind of Engines?

On Earth
I got these when I was younger, and I have no idea of what kind these are. They are both Bachmann, if that helps.

I can't tell if there's another grille ahead of the forward porthole on the F-unit - the photo is too dark. If there is such a grille, its an F9A. If not, it's an F7A Phase II.

The one in the set is an F9 - I would tend to agree with you.

well there does faintly seem to be another grille in front of the front porthole. so i guess according to triplex its an F9A. seeing how you got it when you were young its unlikely a spectrum so mostlikely it is the F9 just sold without the set.

also i heard bachman messed up the designation and labels their F units wrong. correct me if im wrong, but i heard someone does that, i think it was BMann

I wasn't even trying to identify it as a model of a real engine - I was just trying to find what Bachmann product it was. Check the fuel tank on the two. The Spectrum F7 is silver with three clasps and the standard F9 is black with one clasp.
