A Day off for Thomas

On the island of Sodor, Thomas is known as very hard worker. As he had been working hard for several days straight, he was given the day off. But you know Thomas, he doesn't just want to sit around and rest on his free days, he wants to explore. So early in the morning, he hitched up with Annie & Clarabel and went off around the island. He stopped at Farmer Steve's barn, where he talked with some of the horses and was told that there were new baby colts and calves, Thomas was excited to hear that and said he would be back to visit.

As Thomas was going through the forest, he saw Farmer Steve's daughter. "Oh, there's Stephanie," said Thomas, "and oh, she has a new boyfriend, and oh they're,,,,,,, just keep going, just keep going."

Next, Thomas found the forest deer herd and said hello to the new baby fawn.

Thomas stopped by some campers and made sure that had a good night and that everything was ok and if they needed anything. Even on his day off, Thomas is a very helpful engine.

Lastly, Thomas met a new bearcub, Thomas always was happy to meet new people (and animals) and make new friends. As he pulled away, the bearcub waved goodbye and said that he hopes to see Thomas again.

All in all, Thomas had a great day off.

A hot summer day along the river. Working with fuel oil in the heat....

Another good reason to take pics of one's layout...I hadn't noticed that I seemed to have knocked some of the safety railing off of that landing by the tanks! Time to make things safe for the LPB's working there!

Nice pics this week.
Gee's..Poor Thomas. Even on my day off, I still don't have to work.
Ralph, your new camera.......AWESOME!

CNE's engine house. Looks like the CNE is still using a BNSF SD70.
I think the Shay must be in for service. I see it hiding benind CNE's SD70.

more thomas

I enjoyed Thomas so much I thought I would join the fun. I am not a good story teller. One day on the island of Sodor Diesel came back. he threw s switch / turnout and Thomas didn't know. This put Thomas onto the magical track which took him to the allegheny mountains. Now he saw people at the station and being the helpful engine he was he decided to pick them up.

In his travels through the mountains he discovered that Percy had followed him.

He also met another engine. This was a very large and powerful engine.

Thomas was scared at first but the big engine was nice. The Big engine said his name was H8 oh what a peculiar name. But thats ok they worked hard together and became friends.

Then one day Thomas and H8 were talking. Thomas said, my you are such a large engine I bet you are realy helpful. H8 said Yes I realy realy try to be a very helpful engine and do my job without help. Thomas told H8 all about diesel H8 said he would help, so they left for the island of Sodor with thomas leading the way

the end

Canada, eh?
I notice that there's a modified brake system on the engineer's side of the loco, ;):-D but also that the handrails look new. My guess is that you've used handrails from another diesel, as it's got a raised end on the handrail right behind the cab on the fireman's side, even though there's not a door there. Of course, I don't know an awful lot about diesels, so that's just a wild guess. She looks pretty good, regardless. :-D
