Weathering "bottle cars"

Anyone out there weather Hot metal cars? If so i'd like to get an idea of how to do it. I have one car that the original owner put together but didnt do the best of jobs so i'm hoping that a little weathering will do it well.

Guess no one has done this one before. How about modeling those steel industries? maybe they could be similar.

I seem to recall they had a gig on weathering or making the metal glow red or sumpthin', MR or RMC.
