Universal Medium for Watercolour / Acrylic Paints

    To seal edges and/or thin watercolour or acrylic inks or paints to add permanence, I use the following formula

    (For 8 oz/250 ML)

    2 oz acrylic matte varnish
    30 drops (5 cc) retarder *
    30 drops (5cc) flow medium *

    Balance distilled water. Mix thoroughly.

    * retarder slows the drying time, while flow medium allows the paint to "flow" into and onto the work surface.

    Matte varnish , flow medium and and retarder are available at art supply stores.

    Thats a very interesting combination. I would not have though of putting the two together :)

    Does the ink run at all when using this?
