I need to decide which one of these to work with. One is a 9x9 L the other is a 10x10 L. The final layout will most likely be a 10x10 but I can adapt the 9x9 by adding a few more straits. My main problem is deciding which one to go with. I think the 9x9 looks a little cooler but the 10x10 will let me runn two trains without doing any fancy wiring tricks or constant switching. I fudged a bit on the switches and the 90 degree cross because RTS doesn't have the right ones in thier library and I had to make 'em myself.

Now I'm thinking about cutting back to just a single 4x8 and doing a variation of this trackplan from www.thortrains.com That will leave me room to do a second layout later on. :D

OK, threw the thortrains idea out the window as well.

Came up with a pretty cool 4x10 straight layout though.
This may be what I go with if I have enough track and switches.

Two years of planning, over 1000 sheets of paper, countless hours on the internet searching for a layout, started 5 different ones, riped every one out, changed from N gauge to HO and now back to N gauge, I've said it before but I think I got the plan I like... I hope...

Planning your layout is fun there are so many possibilites. And a lot of learning to be done.

Having fun with your hobby, good luck in your track plan, by the way I like the 9 x 9 plan.

I like that last one but it doesn't look as though it has much room for any structures.
I don't plan on having a lot of structures. Possibly a handfull of accessories for effect and just a few buildings that might fit into this type of layout. (Probably industrial of some sort or a passenger run maybe. Not sure yet.) I'm not into building detailed layouts- just driving trains. ;)

announce1 THE CRAZY 8's RAILWAY NEEDS A FIGURE 8 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111!!!!!!!!!

that is all:D
The crazy 8 is my test track.
The name of the railroad may change accordingly when I build my full layout.
I've tried working in the 8. Just doesn't seem right on such a large track.
