Following the "Track Planing" recommendations I made a simplified drawing of my layout (both below) to locate track that had to be isolated for reversing loops. I recommend this activity for others as, after looking at the simple version, I was able to eliminate a few switches and some parallel tracks without losing the ability to have two continuous running tracks or one longer track.
Since I will be using DCC I concluded all track running in the same direction could be one block. The numbers are the length of each of the three reversing sections. The colored lines are the isolation gaps.
Do I have this correct? Also, please make sure my simplified version matches the track plan.
