Boardgames: it has to be Memoir 44 from Days of Wonder you gotta check this system out, it's amazing.

Video Game: STARCRAFT. Was, and still is the biggest RTS game out there, at least until Starcraft 2 hits.

In no particular order (rating indicates how well I think the game was made, not necessarily how much I like it) would be:

The World Ends With You (NDS) 10/10 (I lied, this is without a doubt my favorite game ever! I'm nearing 100 hours of gameplay.)

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (GCN) 10/10
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Ages (GBC) 9.5/10 (Technically 2 games, but
    Runes of Magic (PC) 9/10
    Portal (PC) 10/10
    Resident Evil 4 (GCN) 9.5/10
007 Nightfire (GCN) 9/10 (Not a huge fan of GoldenEye)
Animal Crossing: Wild World (NDS) 9.5/10
Animal Crossing: City Folk (Wii) 9/10
    Ape Escape (PS1) 9/10

There are a few others that are up there, but I hate choosing (except for the first one, that's a no-brainer) and I limited myself to 10 like the original poster asked.

Interesting diversity of favorite games on this forum though.
