Too many sub forums at the top level?.

Would it be possible to somehow hide sub forums from the top level?, I just noticed that now we have
upcoming event, id badges and 'face behind the name' sub forums all showing up at the top level. Am I the only one who thinks we are getting too many 'sub' forums at the top level?
