Presenting the Gauge Time Travel Challenge!!
The Premise
A series of 3 (or more) photographs, depicting 3 different times at the same location.
It's a chance to show off (or an excuse to buy
) locomotives, rolling stock, cars and trucks, buildings, people etc. from 3 different time periods. Or, if you prefer, you can model 3 different times of year - eg Summer, Fall, Winter. Or even 3 different times of the same day. The scene can be set either on your layout, or on a diorama built for the challenge.
The Rules
1. Photo's to be taken at the same "place".
2. Photo's to depict 3 different times (of day, of year or different era's)
3. Descriptions optional, but definitely encouraged
4. Can be a purpose-built or existing diorama or a scene on your layout
5. No limit to scale or size
6. Challenge runs from Nov 4 - Jan 7
7. One challenge per member
8. Have fun!!
Tips
1. You can use vehicles (as well as engines/rolling stock) to set the time period
2. You can use outdoor lighting or the angle of the lighting to establish time of day
3. Trees make great indicators of the seasons
4. Buildings and businesses change over the years
5. Even a single boxcar might go through many changes over time
