Atlas has just announced they will make two Rock Island F-M H15-44 locos (the ROCK only HAD two - Atlas will make both of them!).

They are in the Red and Black Georgia ...er...RI scheme, and will be state of the art with detail and features. But they won't be cheap ! Look at the price  !

Here is the reference:

Save up your twenties - they are out in December!

Mine will be on order ASAP ... I've been wanting this model since I got into the hobby!

Here is a great photo link (click on the photo to enlarge and see more info about this loco):

Maybe they will do an N-scale later for all the wee folk ... right Shane ??? ;)

With the P2K GP18 and DL109, the Athearn Genesis F7A/B in passenger Rocket, and now this, how many RI modelers will declare bankrupcy in 2003 ???!!!

Hopefully not me ..........

- George

PS

Other roads:

Central of Georgia
Jersey Central
UP

and for H16-44

NY Central
Santa Fe

LOL I thought of you when I saw the email from Atlas, George. I remember you mentioning them previously.

I didn't know P2K made a GP18, though. Don't know how I missed that. I think that might be my next purchase, someways down the road. I got my tax bill late last week, so I gotta send those weasels some coin first. Gggrrr....

Better "lock" one in, Mike - Walthers already shows them as "Sold out" and they aren't due till the end of the month !!!

That's taking "limited production" too far, IMHO !!!

Hope Walthers remembers my GP18 backorder made last MARCH !

The P2K GP18 model color scheme is red and yellow, not maroon (as shown in your link to Jeff's page):

http://www.lifelikeproducts.com/proto/gp18highhood.htm

Of course, Jeff's site shows it in the R&Y scheme, too.

I must admit, of all the RI "offerings" this year, I want the GP18 more than any of the others. It would fit in great with my layout timeframe and plan. Far better than the A-G F7 (and I already have the R&B freight F7 by Stewart), DL109 (which is an oddball RI loco) or H15-44.

Although I will try to get the last one if my money holds out - a RI H15-44 along with a RI BL2 were used at one time to pull Davenport to Iowa City football trains!

Hope things are not too "taxing" for you!

Keep 'em rolling !!!
