The-Gauge is an extremely active forum, it is not uncommon to see 300+ members and guest on any weekend in the winter (busy season online). For new users it is sometimes tough to find common things such as Layouts, newbie questions and don't forget tutorials & how-to's.
Admin's and mod's by all means edit this post to add your memorable layout links in the HO category...
Lets make a list of links to great complete or mostly complete layouts (in this post) for new members such as myself. If you post the links i will Update this post daily to make my first contribution to the site.

a moderator here has some great eye candy in this layout and has produced a great progressional picture show into how he made the layout
Building the RK&M - The cement distributer
Building the RK&M II - hillside and grain elevator extension
Building the RK&M III - the mountain

The doc a local moderator can be described as no less then a real bonafide artisan. The numerous posts displaying his layout quite often are subject to a grabbing tale of yester years daily operations.

Good luck with your idea. Your off to a great start! I had a similar idea that I suggested to the moderators (as it required the addition of a new topic in one of the forums)... 'cept it flew like a lead baloon. It would be neat if you included all scales... or at least the major ones.

well i was thinking i'd start a bit of a trend. hopefully people interested in the differant subjects here will also make link collectives in each forum topic. Actually to extend on your idea a New topic with a collection of these posts would would be a great compliment.

Very cool. Thank you for including me. Something is wrong with the link for my home layout though. When you click on it, you get connected with the home page of The Gauge. Can you re-define the link? Thanks.

Train nut, this is the ho scale forum. I think if the thread was expanded to include more than ho scale, it would get unwieldly. I think a better idea would be for members to start similar threads in the forunms for other scales, so this one stays ho, but sometihing similar could be started in the n scale forum, o & large scale forum, etc.

Ron, how about a link to Nazgul's "Don't laugh too's my first attempt" thread in the track planning forum?

Ok ill search it up now.

Sorry, when reading, I never look at which forum the posts are in... I just click on new posts and read them ALL! Don't take this the wrong way, but frankly, I don't care which forum they're in. As long as it's trains, it's got my attention. RonP, looks like the links to my layout don't belong here as Russ pointed out. Thanks for the effort but please remove them. That's okay, as they're in my signature anyways. Sorry to get you in trouble. 2 strikes for me....

I couldn't agree more, and we're growing! Just something to think about, do you really want to re-invent the wheel? What you have here is a great idea, but it will cost you no small amount of time and effort to accomplish. If there's something you're interested in, simply go to the top of the page, and click "search", and enter the subject.
I once knew everything here, where and when to find it, and who posted it. But, two things happened at about the same time. The gauge got too big, and most of my memory became "write only". I have to use search to find most everything now.

    Ralph's for fun!

I also appreciate your efforts with this thread. I've received requests to "sticky" the thread but, after some conversation with administration, agree that its good to limit the number of sticky threads so new threads can be easily seen on the first page. Threads have a life of their own based on the replies they get so I encourage those of you participating in this one to continue as you wish. As Pete mentions above, our SEARCH function (and the GALLERY) are nice resources for locating threads you may wish to find.
