Well I finally found the time [and money] to get my first BIG bridge done [one more to go]. Pop over and enjoy it. Comments here are very welcome. Thanks and have fun :)

Great Job! I have to build one that is slightly curved. I'm hoping someone will post a "how to" for that! Again, very nicely done!

Thanks guys for the comments. :)
    Very encouraging thank you.
0-4-0, a curved is no harder then a straight one if the curve is not too sharp. You make a life sized pattern of the curve and make sure you have the overhang accounted for as well. Then you make the straight bridge only wider to accommodate the curve. That's all there is to it.
That's what the real ones do for wooden trusses anyhow.

I hope that helps you out.

Well, that may be just the ticket! Thanks, I really hadn't thought of that. I was ready to soak the wood and clamp it to the curve and let it dry and all that stuff, but this would be MUCH easier! Thanks again!

I actually did a curved bridge on my old layout if you want to see it , it was strong enough to stand on Sorry I had to put the layout link as I couldn't edit the post for some reason to be able to just grab the pictures links.
