If you need information on the design and lay-out of a particular yard or part of the US to model this may be of some help. The attached picture is not magnified as large as it could be so the details are not as clear. I found my house and could make out the garage and the cars in the drive.

The other one I found useful is the toposerver, which includes topographical information for regions you may be modeling - rivers, highways, elevations, and yep, even railroads themselves.

I had my fun with Terraserver. i got bored one week and printed out the entire Southern Pacific line from West Colton CA. to Indio CA.

i cut out and taped a bunch of them together and they look pretty good on my wall. you can find the locations of crossovers, bridges, and some signals by using these photos. i also have Topographical maps of this area. they are pretty helpful also.



it did take just over one cartridge of black ink to print out this line...and ink isnt cheap for my Epson Stylus.
