I have taken a stab at a new layout to replace the old TBA Railway.
First some of my druthers...
It will be freelance.
It will be MOSTLY shelf based.
No more then a 2 foot reach to any track. (Helix accessed from inside)
I want to be able to run tains in loops, but not exclusivly.
I want to be able to access helix in either direction on both levels.
I will have two levels with a stretched helix
I want a larger yard then the previous layout
I will have a minimum mainline radius of 18"
Larger radius will be used in not hidden areas.
No permanent duck unders.
Pull outs or swing downs are OK. (have experience with these. There will be 2 of these.. one on each level)
Large central area with no "thin" isles. (big guy)
I will have a RR car barge/pier
With all the above, so far I have this trackplan for the lower section. Helix is in the top right and rises going clockwise. Pier and car float are on the mid left.
