So I'm currently building Sagres III from Canon's Creative Park, after getting an urge to build some sailing ships. She's a great boat, and the model is very well designed, especially for so simple a model. I'll probably build some of the others available on that site too.

I was looking around and found that there are a lot of models available from some of the publishers, things like the HMS Victory, etc. I definitely downloaded the Black Pearl model available, but in all my searching, I could not find any trace of card models of the Queen Anne's Revenge, Blackbeard's ship. I understand interest in the subject might be limited to the Americas, but knowing she was rigged like a Dutch Fluyt, I was hoping I could find a way to convert a model of similar size and proportion. If I could even find a fluyt model to simply rename, it would be great. Any ideas, help?

And at the same time, does anyone know of other free, hopefully somewhat simple models I could work on before buying one of the bigger models to tackle?

Olli has an HMS Victory model, and a British/French naval battle diorama, both in his unique style...

If you have the Black Pearl, did you also come across the Wicked Wench?

Less detailed, but I've seen a line of models called Disaster Dioramas which includes the HMS Endurance jammed up in ice.

I also have a couple other much more simple tall ships, but these are closer to what you'd find in a coloring book for kids to color and cut/paste together. I will be happy to share however if you're interested.

I have an insatiable appetite for ships right now, so I definitely won't say no to whatever you have, just because they're simple. I don't think I know Olli's website though, and I did not come across the Wicked Wench.

The Wicked Wench, I guess, is the Black Pearl that Sparrow captained before it was sunk then resurrected by Davy Jones bringing about the movies after the first one. So essentially its the same ship, but in a different paint scheme. sign1

Eitherway, here she is:

Here's Olli's models, but it looks like his tall ships aren't available as a download currently.

For the other simple models, I'll shoot you an email.

From JTDigest

Paragon,

Nice job on the Sangres. Those ships from Canon are definitely on my (endless) to-build list.

Here's some to check out. Run em through google translate.

Also, on http://www.bildrum.se/cutout.htm you'll see a model of Isolda, with a link to another site where the model files are (were?) available. The site is in Swedish. The designer will send instructions if you email him.

That's all I have.

The Canon site has nice stuff. I built thair 747 and have downloaded the Cutty Sark but never started it. It took me 2 years to finish the Ravel U.S.S.Constitution but it was worth it. My question. Has any one finished building the Black Pearl ? I e-mailed Trader Joe and asked him about the lack of instructions. His answer was "thats part of the enjoyment". I am still trying to figure it out.

As far as the Sailing Ships on Olli's site, go to the link on the page and you'll find the Victory and the Naval Battle. Somewhere, I've got them downloaded, can't find'em.
