Did a road trip down to Calgary today for the Supertrains 2002 show. I have 8 photos that turned out well enough to consider; this is my fave. I posted the lot of 'em in the MRPics yahoo group.

Great looking photo's, I like the top photo best, it shows a nice logging incline.

Nice photos, Mike!

But the GP9 looks a little "strange" ...em... oh, I see!
It's the addition of the dynamic brakes...and the absence of Rock Island maroon color!

;)

If you enjoy your P2K GP9 as much as I do mine, you will be one happy loco owner!

Have fun !!!

LOL. Actually, they had two Rocks that I was considering instead of the GP9. An Athearn powered and dummy SD40-2. But the two were right next to the P2K, and there was no comparison in looks. And I have enough Rock engines for the time being (although they still need to be converted to Kadees), so I went with the better looking engine. A decision which I don't regret (although the more Rock units I have the better).

CAN one have enough Rock Engines ???!!!

NEVER !!!!!!! ;)

Speaking of RI locos ...

I just got an Atlas RS-1 RI engine in the mail today !!! :)

Got it for a good price on e-Bay. :D

It's the ORIGINAL road switcher, ya know! The Rock Island invented it! Well, they told ALCO what they wanted in a loco, and ALCO made it for them.

As you say, the more Rock units ones has, the better !!!

Enjoy your Geep! Aren't new locos fun ????
