What can I add - Spitfire is one of the most beautiful weapons not only of WWII, but ever :)

And this one has a story behind -
Squadron Leader Frantisek Fajtl, who escaped the occupied Czechoslovakia in 1939 and fought in French Air Force and later in RAF (and still later with Russian in Slovak Uprising). After war he was dismissed from the army, arrested and persecuted by communist regime, and was rehabilitated only after the 1989. Died as an Army General in 2006.

This is his plane, in which he was shot down in escort mission over France. It was 70 years ago, on May 5, 1942. After that, he was able to get through occupied France to Spain. There he got arrested and put into prison camp. By diplomatic intervention he was finally able to return to Great Britain via Gibraltar.

This model will be published on the occassion of the anniversary.

The pictures are of first and second beta build - the colors on first one are pretty bluish, but that is totally fault of my cheap printer. The second version is better (and near finished :))

The first try:

Second serve:

Fooling around with Scout Trooper from Paper-Replika :) (and also to prove that we know how the tricolor on tail fin should be :))

Yay, it is a joy to help in publishing of something this nice

That's really cool. Great Historical accounting behind it too. These people have done so much, it's great that you can honor and keep their name alive. ! :)

Finished the second one, just yesterday. The colors are definitely better and everything is much more finished.
The cover of the cockpit is cut out from transparency after templates from the model kit. Vacu-formed cover would be much better, I know.

It is said that he was the only RAF pilot allowed to fly with a beard

The colors look great. I like the way the exhausts are done on this craft. The cockpit glass pretty good too! :)

Excellent

Wotjee, your build looks excellent, and even the "simple" clear cockpit looks better than anything I've managed. I don't have the resources to make vaccu-formed canopies anyway, so I appreciate you including the template style.

Great work. I'm looking forward to the release of this kit.

Yay, the model got featured on Czech TV :) Watch it:
http://www.ceskatelevize.cz/ivysila...dvoji-vyroci-letecke-legendy-generala-fajtla/
(I hope there are no regional restrictions).
The report is about a commemorative plaque, unveiled on a Public School on the outskirts of Prague. Apart from the talking heads there are some nice shots of the pilot (young and old) and his plane. And the model shows there, for a short time :) The man with the model, Mr. Sorel is also a legend of sorts. He is author of many books on airplane history and modelling, as well as scripts for Czech comics.

Can't see it in the U.S., if you put it on YouTube, I can embed the video here (so can you, in the "advanced mode" of posting) :)

That is awesome! I can now dream of having my own work be famous for a few seconds, knowing that it has happened before. Congratulations Wojtee.

Could this help, perhaps?

Something that would mask your IP address as a Czech one...

I am not able to download the stream from one archive and reupload it somewhere else (or I am too lazy to look for a way...(is it even legal?)).

So, Spitfire is out there :) This is how it came out: (a bit too green for me, but only on the cover :))

My photos :)

Other people's photos and drawings :)

The model itself:

And yes, the accessories - laser-cut ribs and a cockpit cover (the latter still in work, but we are getting there :) The one on the left side is nearly good (still a bit too large on the rear side)

As can be seen here (very W.I.P.):

But, in the end, another nice Spitfire model :)
