Here is the reason I like trains so much. This is the view from my bedroom window when I was 15 years old! As you can see, my room was the perfect distance back from CN's mainline so that an SD40-2 would take up the entire field of view! Every time a train went by, I would look out the window, and if I had a camera close by, I would take a picture of it, even in the middle of the night, I would wake up enough to take a look at it.

Here are some more from right outside our back yard.

And at that time, they still used a caboose!

An interesting group of photos Mike. Now some may ask you how you put up with the noise, but I bet that you didn't even hear them after you lived there for some time. When I was about that age, we lived very close to a SAR track (South African Raiaways) were steam locos came by hauling coal drags day and night. Took a while when we first moved into that house but soon didn't hear them just like not hearing the ticking of a clock.

The house is still there, when ever I go back, I drive by it, and check! Lots of good memories in that house! (and photo ops!)
