I'm looking to cross a bridge I will not even come to until March of next year...
Still,
I preordered two D&M Altas C425's. The Digitrax decoder DH163IP was recommended, so I ordered two of those. I was told the hardest part of the install would be getting the shell off (implying the decoder plug-in was a piece of cake)
Is this true?
Do all of you think this decoder is a good match for the loco? Maybe I should try to get one with a speaker? I will probably still be using my Bachmann EZ Commander which cannot program CV's... This has not been a problem so far... but will I like the factory speed settings of this decoder as much a the "Equipped" dual mode decoders I am used too?

What about directional lighting, will I hafta solder those wires in?
Help a guy who is new at this...
THANKS
