Signal Light Question

My current layout uses Peco insulfrog turnouts which I throw manually [no switch motors or powered ground throws]. Is there some way to install some red/green signal lights that are activated when I throw the trunout?

Hi Willis,
I recently saw a good picture of a small slide switch connected by a
piece of stiff wire to the throwbar and concealed in the foam or scenery.
When you slide the switch in or out, it also throws the turnout. I think
there was a non-operating target sticking out of the top of the switch, also!! :thumb:

If I run across the pic, I'll post a link. I'm sure there are other ways to link
some kind of switch to the turnout, too. :) :)

Willist: there are a couple of ways to do it. You can install a microswitch operated by the throw rod of the turnout -- this does sit on top of the layout and looks funny. You can wire the lights to the tracks beyond the frog -- this means you need to put gaps in after that and the lights will vary in brightness with track voltage. If you were using switch machines you can add switches to those.
