    Hi all,

Has anybody seen any N gauge models out there, or have an idea of how I can make an operating bogie/truck that does not have sideframes? (Every N gauge truck I've come across relies on the sideframes to hold the wheel and axle in place).

I'm trying to model some subway cars in N, and the prototype bogies do not have sideframes...I will try to find a photo of the trucks in question to clarify things.

I will need powered and unpowered bogies eventually...I was thinking of maybe adapting a doodlebug chasis for the powered car - does anybody know how long the prototype doodlebugs were?

I believe it's Bachmann that does or did put out an Amtrak metroliner with the trucks you're looking for. If I'm not mistaken, there is a powered car to match. "Sounds like a good excuse to search Ebay.", says

Thanks, I'll go have a look. The other option might be bachmann's PCC...

I saw the set at the LHS. It is the Bachmann Centennial, part number 24007. Hope this helps.

Thanks - I had a quick look on ebay, but no joy. I'll have to do some more digging when I have the time.
