Shipwreck Motel

Shipwreck Motel. The model is based on a conceptual drawing I designed for a animated feature film. At the time, the 3d model of the Shipwerck Motel wasn’t need when I was designing buildings to populate the town. But I like the motel enough that I want to see it in 3d so I built it.

The model was built with Sketchup, took about a week of leisure time at home. The lifeboats was not my, tho. It was a Titanic lifeboat I downloaded from 3D Warehouse ( I got lazy ), and the boat modeler is MylynPoddley. I took the boat model and delete stuff on it that I don’t want and it saved me a whole bunch of time so I can still get in some game time

Few more buildings I designed for the film I would love to see in 3d too: Realtor office – my wife is a real estate broker so I did that just for her. A antique gallery I designed for my daughter and a surf shop for my son. Actually, now that I am thinking about it, I want to build all of them. Maybe I can sell them as preprinted to trains people…. If not, at least I am betting better with SketchUp and having fun doing it.

It looks like it would be a fun build as well.
The building reminds me of some of the buildings in Western Washington.

Thanks you. I think the motel is a little too complicated for me to make it as a paper model as is. I will need to simplified several area to make it build friendly. But before that, I will try doing a simpler building to figure things out first.
