Oh yes I'm ready!!
I will suggest you put the chiha as number two in your vehicle pile!!
And thanks for your nice words Russell!!

Shoot, I just may have to do this Chi-Ha while I wait for my package!
One can never have too much fun!
I am working on three models at the moment and all three are almost finished!
Hopefully I will have all of them done in the next couple of days so I can show them off!!

As always Johnny, you are a huge inspiration to me!

I think the tracks will fit just fine :)

I put together a few links just to see how they looked.
The tracks are from DrafModel.
Somehow I prefer lasertracks....

It´s difficult for me to get lasercut tracks here in Brazil.
I must import everything! wall1
But I´m thinking about doing a technique I´ve learned here in this forum.

About your tracks Johnny, awesome as usual. :thumb:
Your tracks are always impressive.
Keep us updated.
Hugs.

I also have to import every single thing, from cardboard, models, tools and laserparts.....The cardmodelling is totally unknown here in Norway.

Thanks Ricardo!!

The exhaust.

Today I made the exhaust.

The parts are cutted out and edgepainted.

First I made the exhaust tank.Made of 3 parts.

Then it was the bend.

And all assembled

The top cover was to be made of a frame and the underlying net.I replaced the papernet with something else.....

The finished cover looks like this.I don't have any metalnet....so I guess this will do.It's hard to tell the difference with the naked eye from a normal view, but the macro shows that it's not metal...

Placed on the tank.

So the rear end is done.Only the jack is missing. Will add that item in the end due to my lousy handling of the models sometimes.....

You got me drooling all over my desk, Johnny!

Man, that is one beautiful looking tank! Fantastic, as always, Johnny!

For that netting, did you use gauze, that you wrap a wound with?
Sure looks like it. I think I have seen you use that stuff before and it works great!
I have to make sure I have a supply of that stuff, for when I need it.

Thanks for your kind words guys!!

@ Sergio I use a metal ruler and the exel scalpel with blades #11 for cutting :)

@ Russell Yes thats the word for it I think,it's the bandage stuff....It's pretty handy and you have to be about 20cm close to see it's not a real metalnet.

Finishing the upper part of the tank.

The handgrips are all in place.

The tower machinegun

The front machinegun and rest of the hatches

And a couple of overviews at last.

Today it was an important day....the wheels should be glued on.
I was a bit nervous about the alignment of the wheels, but all in all I'm satisfied with the result.

The underside shows that there are some minor adjustments to be made.

Also got the front light in place.I made a reflector of aluminiumfoil and a small bulb, but obviously nothing of that shows....

There are one spring at the front end still missing and some paint on the drivewheel, but I'll see what I can get done tomorrow!

So the end is just a bunch of tracklinks away.....

Making the tracks.
Each link contains 4 parts.

I place the rods first, because I don't want the glue to close the tiny holes...

Then I apply the glue, and put the top part in place.

When the glue has dried,I have to grind the edges to make them round.
I use a nail grinder found in the womans section in stores.Very handy for a lot of small work. They comes in packages of 10 and costs almost nothing.

When the grinding is done,I glue the small strip on the outside of the tracklink

And when all links are assembled and painted I will add this last part to the links. Not adding them at once is because I dont wan't to destroy them, and the handeling of the tracks are also easier without having to think of this..

So now I have 17 links on the table...

210 links all in all.....I'm really looking forward to this job.....

I have been working on a small base for the chiha. Here is what I have so far.

I might find some wooden structures to add, maybe a fallen down shed or something like that.

Very nice! You always do a wonderful job with your dioramas. I really like how even though its so small its still its own little world. The going up the hill and squishing the little trees really gives the impression of the tank moving through the scrub on the way to battle....

The models looks a lot better IMO than just display them as they are.

Added some more trees, made the last spring on the front suspension and I tried to make the destroyed shed with some debrie around,a door, half a wall and a roofplate

I also found an old newspaper.....
