Anyone wanna try this scratch build? I was bored and had a few shells lying around waiting for decals and seen the wc and thought I'd try itsign1 Man what a biig front porch:thumb:

Of course the Canadians were way ahead of ya... CN and their comfort-cab SD40-2's.

And yep they do look quite snappy!

They already made an SD40M-2- rebuilt SD40s and SD45s by Morrison-Knudsen for Southern Pacific.

I think by "M" he was referring to the wide safety cabs.

I like that big "porch" on a regular SD40-2, or even moreso on a tunnel motor, but that CN unit reminds me of a guy with big feet wearin' "floods". And I've always been a big fan of the "safety cabs" since I saw the first GP38s with them, and the "zebra-stripe paint scheme is one of my all-time favourites: wish they'd go back to it for some of the big GEs and GMDs that they're running now.
