Scenic Glue

Im sure most here are familar with scenic glue like that sold by Woodland Scenics, however given the price of it I was searching for alternatives and wondered what you guys use on your layouts. Especially for things like making trees, grass flocking, securing track ballast and so on. With the WS stuff you just spray it on over the ballast and it supposedly dries hard and clear. I read where someone used just Elmers white glue diluted 50 percent with water. Is this just as good or are there better glues to use?

I use just elmers glue duluted 50 50 half water half gue. get some windex or soapy water and spray it over thee grass or ballast otherwise it will clump up like kiddy litter.

Just add a couple of drops of liquid laundry detergent to your 50/50 mix and it will flow without clumping.
