I am using foam risers but how would i detail the sides. I think I'll do sheer with rock castings attached. how does the hydrocal adhere to the foam? or if i do slope sides what would you suggest to build it out with??? I really enjoy this web site, everyone is really helpful. thanks[IMG]

I've used these risers, as do a lot of people here. What I did was just cover them with paper towels soaked in plaster. When that dried, I went back and sculptured rock and dirt as I needed. I've got rockmolds, but have yet to use them since I like to see what I can creat without them. I'm sure others here have a different approach, but that's what I've done.

Glad you enjoy this site, and we're glad to have you here as well.:wave:

I used them on my last layout. What I did to cover them up was to use broken up ceiling tiles to build a rock face mountain. Here are some pictures of the tile.
