Saturn V Exterior Stringer Detail.....crazy idea?

    Glad the ideas help! That's what it's all about right? :)

    I was trying to figure out how to cut the angled cut on the leading ends of the body stringers, then it dawned on me. Why not use my matte cutter which cuts 45 degree angles in matte boards.

    I'll give it a try and post the results.

    Yup, the matte cutter did the trick in getting a nice crisp clean 45 degree cut on the ends of the body stringer.

    I glued 4 layers of card stock then cut that sheet to the correct length, one end has the bevel the other end is square. All that's needed now is to shave them to the correct width. This should work out nice for the Thrust Structure detail between the engine fairings.

    My God, you're even cutting the ends at 45 degrees? You're my kind of crazy. :grin:

    Oh My God...

    If I could find time to build one of these things and bring it to a model show, nobody will ever think of it as cardboard... :-D
