I have come into possession of a model of a sanfrancisco cable railway car the book is copyrighted 1982 and is in good condition. what should I do with it?

Note: my copy is in better condition than this but my scanner is not working properly.

I lol'd at the title: "So Easy and Adult can do it!"
Maybe, you can look up the copyright to see if it is still in cation. If it's not, why don't you submit it to the downloads section?

    How would I do that?

I came accross one of those recently. Going to see about trying to scale it down to 1/25th. Someday that is, its probably down the list into the 200 range for projects I want to do.

    Cable car

If you get it scanned I would love to try that one.

I'm with QWERTY2008 on this. How do you look up if a copyright is still valid?

Forgeddaboutit, you would have to contact the publisher, then the author. Lots of work. You would be better off just designing your own.

    What scale is that it?

I would scan that model and build it. As long as you still own the book, you can do that. It becomes and issue if you get rid of the book, but if you scan it, you can then Photoshop bright colors into it. :)

ASC Mclarn, I haven't really scaled it out, but would guesstimate around 1/8th scale.

I was organizing the garage, and guess what I found! Yep, an Alan Rose "Build your own Cable car" book, in perfect condition!!!! This now goes into the build stack (I'll have to scan and build in 1:18, my OCD).

Cool, hopefully you actually get to it instead of just watching your build stack get taller like mine. 3yr3months until retirement

I have not found that cable car yet but I am entertaining the idea of scratch building one, out of card stock and if that works out, probably transferring the idea into wood, metal, plastic or whatever I can scrounge from the railroad side of the hobby. But that is a little into the future for now.

The old Hawk 1/48 scale plastic kit is available now from Lindberg. Same car I believe that is used on the Powell St line. Considering the age of the kit it is a pretty good model.

I just bought the Lindberg model so I could design it in a larger scale. It's on my "to do" list.

Now that would be a really cool model! :)
