I have recently renewed my interest in RC airplanes. Several years ago I had some bad experiences with crashes caused by lack of good instruction. I am now considering going the electric route to regain my confidence in my ability to fly one of these things! I have purchased a Firebird II as a starting point, but really would like to graduate to a large powered sailplane format ASAP.

Do any of you have a suggestion as to planes that I should consider? I have ample space to fly and think that soaring would be something that I could really enjoy but don't want to invest until I get some feedback from others.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I would suggest you check out the economical Skimmer and Skimmer 400 from Hobby Lobby. These are built-up kits and not ready to fly but if you have some basic building ability these would be perfect.
